Did that love remain just a sweet memory, or does it continue to accompany us, shaping how we fall in love, what we search for, and what we fear?
The book You Were was created to examine how teenage love shapes the experience of growing up and leaves a mark on memory and identity. I curated and edited the texts, and the visuals are typographic images I generated with code. The book is divided into three chapters: Beginning, End, and Endless. Each chapter traces a different stage of adolescence and first love, leading to my concluding insight that first love does not end but changes form and stays with us.
